ABOUT PAM NICHOLS

Pam Nichols is the former President of Portland Open Studios in Portland, Oregon.  She is an accomplished artist who creates work in the encaustic painting, charcoal & water color mediums.

She is an Artist Representative and Art Show Producer.  Her Trunk Shows have become a favorite for the arts community and are well received.

What is Encaustic Painting?

PAM NICHOLS | ARTIST'S STATEMENT

My passion in art comes from nature and the energy of ordinary things.  Letting the energy just flow, not thinking about what will happen, just letting it be, allows it to grow. I usually start with a color and within it I see what it wants to become.

My work is always changing, which is so much like myself.  I love going into thrift stores, rebuilding centers and looking at objects that inspire new ideas and creations.
