SE Area ARTWalk 2009

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Being my first year in the SE Area ARTWalk, it couldn’t have been better.  I was in a wonderful space with 6 other talented and fun artists.  We had a wide variety of work on display and we all were thrilled at the number of folks that came out to enjoy the show.  I am happy to say that 3 of my larger paintings now have new homes and it makes me really happy to know that they will be looked at all the time.  Bonita Davis was next to me and had one of her best years ever in the SE ARTWalk.

Who won a free painting? The winners are….

The weather turned out to be  a pretty decent at the Tualatin Crawfish Festival, better then the 100 degree heat at the Brew-n-Art Show.  The heat didn’t deter folks from enjoying the show and buying art!  I had a drawing at each event to win a little painting I made.  The winner from the Tualatin Crawfish Festival was Tessa Brookhart and Dee Rommel won from the Brew-n-Art show in Tigard.  Here I am in my booth with Larry and Debbie Nelson.  Virgina Parks shared and showed her work with me in the booth.img_1241.jpg

Summer Shows

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

This summer I will be in a few art shows.  I am really excited to be in the Chehalem Mtn Art Affair which is the 26th & 27th of July.  I was at the Postergarden for First Thursday in June.  I meet a great artist, Richard Jones, he makes fabulous paint brush as a side thing to his wonderful drift wood sculptures and rock formations.  Check out his website, www.drifting-images.com! I will also be in the Tualatin Crawfish Festival on the 8th and 9th of August and the following weekend on the 16th at Max’s Fanno Creek Brew Pub for the Brew-n-Art show.  Virginia Parks and I have been to few encaustic workshops this summer from Linda Womack and Elise Wagner, highly recommend taking their classes.

Fundraiser for Paint it Forward

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

Please come join me at MacTarnahan’s Taproom tonight 4/23 to support Paint it Forward by eating and drinking.  MacTarnahan’s will donate 1/2 of all sales to buy art supplies for the kids of Sitton Elementary School in North Portland.  The Paint it Forward event, May 2nd, will be giving students a donated piece of art from local artists to keep as inspiration and artists will be teaching kids techniques and kids will go home with art supplies.  The kids then will create a piece of art that will be shown at the Roosevelt’s High School Art Show on May 12, 2008.
